Guys, quick question....going Monday to pick up a Harley V-ROD a couple hours away, anyone know if it will fit in the bed of my Prerunner DCLB? Trying to figure out if I can get away with taking the Tacoma or if I need to take my old '82 Chevy dually (gas hog).

I know my old Ninja would fit but this V-ROD is pretty darn long...

    Thanks

that's a big bike, i couldn't image having that in the bed of my tacoma or that i would want that much weight on the girly tailgate. bring the big truck for this load.

I'd take the gas hog. It would prob fit at an angle but Harleys are heavy and trickier to tie down at an angle. My DR400 fits fine resting on part of the tail gate but it only weighs around 300-350lb. I'd also consider what truck is lower for loading and unloading.

if you had a relentless fab tailgate reinforcement skin, id say take the taco. But that much weight on a stock tailgate... eh no.

You might bend the Taco tailgate with all the bouncing around.... it's happened before to members, seen pics if it too... not good.

From checking the internet the VROD weighs around 640lbs, so it's not overly heavy, just long.

As long as you stay off the tailgate you will be Ok. Theses gates are weak.
If its long enough to be on the tailgate, chances are it will bend it.

I think it will be fine, load it diagonal. When you tie down the front it lightens the rear of the bike. There really won't be a ton of weight on the tailgate.
