quick question on transfer case skid plate install

    I have a 4 cylinder and I bought skid plates from RCI.
    There was a small "skid plate" bolted to the bottom of the transfer case already. The instructions make no mention of this. I removed it before installing the RCI stuff. Is this part on all trucks or just the 4cyl?

    That is a vibration dampener weight. My 2014 4-cyl 4x4 Tacoma doesn't have it and I bought it brand new. It does have the little black painted steel skid plate.

    I was talking about the little plate. I guess I’ll clean it up, paint it and reinstall it.
