Spam. I get letters about every week or two (for a different truck). I get calls almost every day. It doesn't do any good to block the number because it's different every time.

Yeah and they have gotten real good at getting you to answer the phone, I don't know how they do it. But it shows up on my phone as local business numbers, then you answer it and it is them calling from California. I have no idea how they do it, but I let everything go to the answering machine now.

The local area code trick is how they got me to answer the last few times. What really grinds my gears is that they call my work too.

Which is actually one reason they are showing you some extra love.

Your record shows you are a hot prospect. :D

I'm not sure how they get these records. My mom gets calls nearly daily for a warranty for her car (but she has never once in her life owned a car cause she has a vision problem and would never get a license).

The only call I get for a warranty is for a Sport Trac that I sold 7 years ago....

Weird. The info comes from a combo of places, including the DMV in some cases. It's the same idea as getting arrested / ticketed. In a matter of days you'll be bombed with bail bond ads and driving school solicitations. They use web crawlers to glean the public info.

So, is there a chance your mom ever had a car titled in her name? You don't have to drive to own a car. Like for one of her kids to help get them going, etc.?

I'm the only kid that drives/has purchased a car and I never needed assistance from my mom. I guess it is possible my dad included her on one of his vehicles at some point, but he directly has never received any contact about extended warranties. Beyond that, the last vehicle he purchased was in 1999 for an F-250, and prior to that a 1985 Chevy Blazer (purchased in 1984).

We at one time thought her identity might have been stolen, but can find no indication of that either.
