Hey guys, quick question, was doing some simple service on the truck, when I had the oil cover from the skid plate off, I could see what I believe is my front diff pressed up against the skid plate. Should there be a gap between it or it okay for the aluminum skid plate to be pressed up against the diff? The Skid plates are aluminum and not sure if over time and use they bent inward causing contact. If so, maybe time to swap it for a steel one, or if it’s normal/by design, that’s great. The bottom of the skid plate looks great so don’t see obvious bending, but then again I didn’t take a level to it. Any input would be appreciated, thanks guys.

If you don't hear click clunk or clack, it should be good. You don't want to loose clearance for the skid that is not needed. I see no wear marks, so no worries as far as I know.

Thanks, that piece you see upfront in the pic does have a slight gap as you can tell, it’s the portion right behind that spot that is touching. I tried sliding a small piece of plastic under and it did clear that part we can see but not the part behind it.

Hold a flat edge up to the plate... is it bent? If so, hammer it back.
