How about the rear leaf springs. You both have the 4 leafs already installed new?

Sorry I noticed yours was an '07 and had the TSB done after I posted. I understand the 2008 trucks sold in Canada and Mexico have the TSB 4 leafs under them already. Thanks

I'm not questioning the quality of the trucks by where they're built. I'm curious why the US trucks come with the 3 leaf rear springs as compared to the ones sold in Canada and Mexico that are shipped with the 4 leafs.
I understand that this applies to the 08's anyway.
What other small differences are there between trucks depending on what country they are to be sold in?

I was wondering the same thing, and why they have no TSB on the 08 if it the same part ## as the o7 (that has a TSB). Mine was built in Fremont (20 min from me) and has the 3 leaf. Maybe UAW bylaw says they cant lift the extra leaf (j/k).

Well in Mexico we only have 2 options on tacos

Dcab Short bed Sr5 Prerunner 4x2
Dcab Short Bed Sr5 Prerunner 4x2 TRD Sport , the price difference is only about $15,000 MXN

Mine is the TRD Sport and already had the 4 leaf springs, i guess the difference between buying inn mx or usa are the additional options you can add, up there you can customize almost anything, not down here.....

Does the VIN indicate whether a double cab is a short or regular box or whether the transmission is automatic or manual?

I wasn't talking about the TSB on US trucks. I lucked out and have had the TSB done on my 08 already. 2008 trucks built for distribution in Canada and Mexico already have the four leaf rear springs installed.

Your right about the same part #'s on the 08's. Toyota will probably add the 08's to the TSB when the 09's come out. This was the case for the 07's when the 08's were released. I'm curious if they will still have the 3 leafs in back on the 09 model. I'll bet they will.;)
