I ordered my QS during fall 2015 having never seen one in the wild. My last taco was black and I was not going to make that mistake again. Every other car I have owned has been silver, so I was between QS and whatever the silver is called. When I first saw QS in person. I thought it had too much yellow in it. I got used to it and I'm glad I got it, but the silver trucks look really good, too. It seems like QS has become more popular. I like that it is not metallic and hides dirt, dings and scratches very well.

I get great feedback all the time for my QS, they often ask if I custom paint it that way "military color." I LOVED it first time I saw it, no regrets here at all!

I looked at the color, I have a few friends that are really into cars and trucks. most had a very negative response to it when I said I liked it. They said it looked like an almond fridge. I actually think it's a nice color. Not one of my first choices but if I was offered a deal on that color I'd take and learn to love it. I thing QS needs black wheels, black trim, black badges and blacked out chrome to look great. With silver wheels, chrome and no black I think QS looks bad.

i love the color. i was originally going to buy the truck in QS but then i discovered cement gray. they are both badass colors that give the truck a unique look, and both go very well with the black trim on the OR and Pro models.

When I saw this Quicksand Tacoma for the first time I thought it was a really nice color.

Four plus years later, I haven’t changed my mind.

    upload_2020-5-12_19-58-13.jpg

It’s a basic no frills truck and it suits me just fine.

Every once in awhile someone will approach me to tell me they really the color. Nobody has ever told me face to face they don’t like the color though- lol.

I love the color and want one. I'm ok with my silver one, had to take what i could afford at the time but the first chance i get to purchase a QS one, i'll jump on it!

I have all three types of color blindness. As you probably suspected, I think quicksand doesn't have enough contrast with either city or natural surroundings, and I wonder if this color is linked to a higher propensity for collisions. I like the color, but legit wonder if it affects safety. Any data on that? I stick with white because I can find it as long as it isn't snowing lol.

Thankyou for the response. I work with several men than have told me their worries when it comes to color differential. It is something that should be made aware of.

I actually had the first batch of QS in a 90 mi radius for 2018 model. There wasn't any running around in my city (a small size city) so people found it really awesome and would honk or give me thumbs up. Now there are a lot, but mine is modded out which I have only seen 3 tacos in any color that are modded out as mine in my area. Most like to get jeeps here due to rock crawling and mud pits so having an offroading Taco is pretty new.

My truck is in the shop right now getting regeared and sliders put on (don't like rock crawling so it was one of the last things on my list). Here is the most recent pic of mine (shop took the photo, I wasn't there, but they are a dedicated offroading shop. Primarily work on jeeps and some 4runners so was excited to work on my truck):
    TacoShop.jpg

    Crying? for what?

Here's mine mostly blacked out ^^

Just picked up my 2018 DCSB OR in QS. My wife hates the color but said "it's your truck" so there ya go. Picked it up last saturday and on sunday we went to Home Depot to get some plants for the yard. I was loading up the stuff and a guy walked by and didn't just compliment it. He was like "excuse me sir, but I just wanted to tell you that your truck is absolutely beautiful! I really love it! Just fantastic!" My wife couldn't believe it. Then my next door neighbor who has a gray 2010 TRD Sport saw it and went nuts. He loves it too.

For the .mil guys I can say that if this had come along in the late 1990's I would have had the same opinion... done with desert tan forever. But 25+ years later and doing work with the military I can say that its come back around for me and I feel a little of my personal legacy when I drive it. I'm partially red/green colorblind so I never know for sure if I'm seeing the color everyone else sees but I love it and am looking forward to getting it dirty.

I have an MGM, I was not a fan of quicksand when I started shopping for my Taco. Two years later I wish I had gotten the QS.
