I’m looking to trade my inferno in. How durable is the quicksand color. Does it hide scratches and swirl marks or the opposite?

Yes. I like the fact that I don't have to wash it 24/7 for it to look clean. It is very low maintenance. I still would prefere Cement though.

Those are my two top choices. I have ocd so I want the easiest to hide swirls etc.

I find it hides the dirt pretty good. I get around to washing it when I see too much brake dust on the front rims.

I haven't washed my truck in months and have been beating on it pretty good - still looks great imo.

For reference, here is a photo from Craigslist of an old Land cruiser...

Hoping my truck still looks this good when it is that old.

    Cheers

I've had mine for about 2 months and haven't washed it yet. Looks exactly as it did off the lot.

Quicksand being a light color shows dirt well. Find that I want to wash my truck about once a week. Have been thinking about getting one of those unlimited car wash deals locally (like $24/month) and washing it more. Color looks great when washed, but any dirt that gets on it shows (at least on mine it does). And I am just talking about driving down the road after a light rain and such. Not off-roading. But I wouldn't trade it for any other color out there.

I was on the same page as you did between the cement and the quick sand. Im extremely happy with the quick sand decision. In my opinion the cement color is basically another silver color. My local dealer had the two of them to compare and it was a simple decision after that. And YES it hides the dirt very well, I haven't wash my truck in two months!

Thanks for the input. How is the color holding up for noticing scratches, swirls, and paint chips.

This is what the side of mine looks like after driving across a dirt road that's about 50' long for the past 2 days to get to work. It's really shows dirt. IMG_4475[1].jpg IMG_4474[1].jpg

That looks like water marks as well. Normal dirt won’t show like that in my opinion.

Make sure to make the decision for color in bright daylight. Those pictures of the quicksand in the dark with lighting don't do any good. It looks so much nicer in bright daylight setting IMO.

You’ll love either one. I went with the TRD Sport in Cement. I just loved the color along with the black hood decal, black nerf bars and I ordered the black Tufskinz Tacoma letters to make the cement and black pop together. You can’t go wrong with either color.

Both colors are great and as with most unique colors the pictures don't do them justice. I went quicksand because the cement wasn't out yet and really love it. But it would have been a tough choice if i had to choose again... would probably go QS again.

I've gone months with out a wash and really the only thing that shows is if you go over wet gravel puddles in parking lots and that white water/muds get on it.

Funny you ask, when we picked up our new Taco inside the garage at the dealership, under certain lighting you could see some swirls & light scratches and my wife complained. I didn't even notice them until she mentioned it, (and wouldn't have even cared), but we ended up getting a free car starter out of it. It pays to be picky before accepting your new Taco!!

P.S. My 2nd choice was Inferno. Your gonna lose a lot of money doing this, hope you think long and hard over this.

Not much to do with the color as I suspect it would be the same regardless, but my paint has scratched extremely easily. Seems like every light twig I brush against is going to need to be buffed out.

Then again, bought a truck to be a truck, not a mall crawler.
