Toyo AT2 or LTX AT2 are the quietest by far.

Duratracs aren't quiet, I know a few people with them and all noticed a sharp volume change while driving. My studded winters arent as loud as my duratracs (low mileage no less).

BFG's get really loud with time, same with the similar cut Grabbers.

Falken AT3W the quietest AT I have ever owned. Love this tire. Excellent performance.

Another one of these threads, you will get every type of tire as a suggestion so it won't be much help. Plain and simple the larger the voids the more noise, period. You are going to get those who say the hybrid tires/aggressive AT tires like the KO's are dead silent, but they aren't. It is up to each person how loud a tire is to them. When people run around on mud tires for years switching to an AT will seem like stock quiet. Like wise someone running around stock for years when switching to a more aggressive tire will hear some more noise. You just have to weigh what you want, just note the more aggressive the tire the more noise.

Generally some of the suggestions will go like this (from quietest to loudest):

Michelin AT2, Revo, Cooper AT3, BFG KO, Nitto Ridge grappler and Duratrac.

Granted your results will vary but that is generally how it will go, and as the list shows that is least to most aggressive.

Good luck, but I think these types of threads are better being re-named as "list of AT-Hybrid tire types". Also too many people are putting hybrid tires in AT categories, they aren't the same...

Nitto Terra Grapplers G2. Good all-around for mainly pavement and occasional and very good in rain.

Only have 15K miles on my G2s and they've been a very good tire so far, we'll see how they last in the long term.

I had Michelin ATX on my 1st gen for a long time and even at 50k miles they were still pretty damn quiet.

I have General Grabber AT2s in Standard Load rating. They were just a touch louder than the hankooks that came on the truck..... They looked like a pure street tire.

I heartily agree. Twice I've installed Bridgestones on sale and then paid extra to have tire seller exchange them for Michelins.

I only have 100 miles on mine, lol. Major upgrade from the factory tires tho.

I'm running them on a V6 2nd gen (auto) with stock gears. Drivablity is good but to can feel the truck has to work a bit harder to turn them. My gas mileage dropped by 2 mpg.

Never see much love for Cepek's (nothing bad, just rarely mentioned). I've run a few different models and have always had great experiences and feel they wear better and perform better than Duratracs which I've also owned. Check out the Fun Country. its an aggressive AT that does well off road and is pretty quiet on as well. Not sure if they come in less than an E load though so if that's a factor, these may not work for your needs.

I ran 2 sets of Michelin LTX AT2s. I highly recommend them.

I ran a set down on my last Tacoma. Was fairly happy. Only thing was on ice I think other AT's do better, had a few scary moments.

Thanks for all the help guys. Going to try another set of Toyo OC AT2 's. I really think something was wrong with my last set. A bad tire, bad alignment, something.....it seemed to be isolated to one tire and I also had one tire that was a prick to balance (can't say for sure it was the same tire) If I do decide on another it will likely be the Michelin. Thanks Again!

I replaced my stock Toyo tires (TRD Sport) at 1k miles with the Toyo AT2 and They were quite a bit louder than stock. They rode well though but cupped badly in 24k miles. I now have Nitto Terra Grappler G2s and while they ride well, they are also quite loud - louder than my perception of the reviews that I read. My gut told me to go with the Michelin LTX but I wanted a more aggressive look. The Nittos look good but are definitely loud(er) on the highway.

Another vote for the Bridgestone Revo 2s. So far this winter I've taken just under 20 trips to the mountains. About 75% of the driving is on the highway and country roads and the other 25% is up a mountain pass.

The Revos are quiet in my opinion. They handle really well in the snow, slush and hard pack (and they're super fun to rally around switch backs).

I personally think they look cool to.

With all that said, when I get some new wheels this spring, I might go for something even more aggressive looking in the AT tire category.

That's ass backwards thinking on my part because the Revos are awesome and I do far less aggressive driving in the summers (mostly highway and camping) and driving back and forth to skate parks :/

I need to figure out how to best clean the white letters though

I ran a set of the Bridgestone REVOs and liked everything about them, EXCEPT the life.
Was all I could do to bleed 50k out of them. Actually, dont think I made it.
I was pleased with their looks, traction, and quietness though. Maybe I'll buy another set after I burn a set of KO2s. (Curious to see how they THEY do.... I have a friend who got 90K on a set of KOs, not the KO2s on his 2000 Tundra. Impressive.)
