FIERCE Attitude M/Ts are decent on the road. I enjoy mine and they don't whine over the radio

I swapped out my Mickey Thompsons after 30,000 miles for Duratracs. Noise wasn't that bad, but the duratracs are way better.

True words from a wise man. people who buy tires for "looks" and complain they're too loud and other things kind of piss me off. The tires I run now are kind of goofy, but who cares? they suit my needs and were very well priced.

Hey everyone, whats the deal with MT tires wearing and becoming louder? Is that every MT tire or what???

I would think a new MT tire would hum louder with the deep grooves in the new tread....and quieter as the tread would level out as they wore out some. Where's the logic here? Thanks

This thread is about the compromise between MTs and road noise....thats why im greatly interested in everyone's noise opinion. I would love to stick with a MT tire for the looks - as long as the noise isnt obnoxious. Common sense already tells me they will be generally louder than ATs....

But how much? Which ones are obnoxious? Which are not?

Apparently, every MT isnt identical on a noise scale --> purpose of this thread is to find out which is best for my preference.

Thanks everyone.....since we all have them, keep opinions/experiences 'em coming :)

BFG KM2s give a nices loud humm on the street, not bad around town, but not good on freeway, stick with A/T

I'm guessing it's because those large deep tread blocks don't wear perfectly evenly. So as they come from the factory is the flattest they're ever going to be.

i like them cause they tear up the dirt road, but they ride super nice on the road. for some reason mine are a little noisy on the freeway. at my dealership theirs 5 of us that run this tire and they have no complaints with noise. plus they balanced pretty close to 0oz

Im running BFG KM2's on the taco, and they really arent that loud i dont think. Maybe its the roads here but they do seem to walk alil bit. Ive only got less than 1000 miles on them. I ran Nitto Mud grapplers on my z71 and those suckers were loud and wore down quickly, then again, it was a heavier truck and all that so cant really tell you what they would be like on a tacoma.

I have the Kumho KL 71's and so far I'm satisfied with them. When I first got them, they were no louder than the a/t's I had before. They have gotten a little louder, since I've put a few thousand miles on them, but it is not bad at all. I just turn up the radio a little louder lol.

I ran the Hankook m/t on my FJ. For 15,000 miles. On pavement. Road noise never changed. Could run with windows down, radio off, and carry on a conversation. Not with myself. Lol. Traded FJ for Tacoma.

KM2's are the quietest I've ever ran. I've had the old school MTR's, super swampers, TSL's, Micky MTZ's and the KM2 is the smoothest, quietest MT I've ever had.
