Quieting lock/unlock beep

Here's another few things to make you loose sleep!! Seems that the alarms are set up different by the region you buy your truck and the below link is mainly for Gulf State trucks.

I wasn't comfortable leaving the wires loose and yet the beep was killing me and my dogs. I took the mechanism out and stuffed it with some old rag I cut up and it works great IMO. It's there but only for me to hear. Hope this helps.

Note: There are #3 Holes on the beeper. 2 smaller ones and 1 bigger. I only stuffed the bigger one and I got the result I was looking for. Thought of then wrappiong it in tape. But was rather happy without any further work.

 

Ya .... I posted this in another thread but here goes.

Under the hood, to the right in front of the battery you will find this:



Unplug it and tape over pigtail:



.... no "beep"

 

^ Thats sweet "JP". and how about disarming the horn? Well I want to have a horn but not when locking or unlocking the truck.

Wait a second...so if i just have the remote keyless entry, i can get my horn or something to beep now with this little easter egg?!?!

Probably not on a 2008.

 

+1 on the earplug in the piezo buzzer. I prefer the audible beep, but wanted to dampen it as well.
