I've been a member of this site for about ten years, I've spent countless hours reading threads, learning, laughing and scratching my head over threads. I just can't get over the amount of negative threads in the 3rd Gen forums. I have owned multiple toyotas ranging from every generation of Tacoma to present tacomas, 4runners and an FJ included. There is so much gripe about these new trucks. From transmission to squeaky springs and everything in between. It's 2016! What do people expect? Go buy a Colorado, do you anticipate no issues. It's not a perfect truck! But I for one love mine, I don't believe another manufacturer is making a better product. Bitch and gripe all you want but we all buy tacomas for the same reason. No other truck compares in this market!

I think their are a few legitament concerns. However I agree with you, I think majority of the people have nothing better to do than bitch about every little thing

I couldn't have said it better myself.

One of the best 3rd Gen thread quotes to date.

Honestly if less people cared about the people bitching maybe those doing the bitching would just shut the fuck up.

At this point it's a constant echo of extremes: bitching and anti-bitching.

It's only staying in the shop cause you put it there, was it going to blow up if you kept driving it?

When someone spends upwards of $40K, is it wrong to think that they should be getting a well-functioning vehicle?

    None...yet
"Legitimate" is a relative term. The trans fluid stuff is pretty real. Buying a partial truck at $30K plus is kind of a big deal. If your 16 had no headlight bulbs, or no front speakers, or no rear brake pads, would you be so dismissive? Especially if the absence of those parts likely meant a shortened life of a major component.
Here's the deal. I'm in Lust with my 16 DCSBOR. It's nice. Really nice. I like most of its traits. A lot. It rides better than any truck I've had and it off roads better too. This is 18yrs of 4x4 ownership. It's good looking to boot.
But being sold a truck that wasn't a complete truck and clearly needed a bit more development is kind of an insult. Every time I'm cruising down the interstate with cruise set, in 4th gear, because of an overpass that caused a double downshift two miles ago I want drive a rusty nail in the pee-hole of the guy who programmed it. I feel like putting a bullet between the eyes of every Panda that wouldn't screw to save its species. I want to open the dump valves on oil tankers and smother all the French beaches I've never seen. I want to breathe smoke. I want to destroy something beautiful.

Auto problems. Thats the dumbest subject of this forum, everyone who had it checked was within 10% of full capacity, there is no chance those transmissions were affected adversely while "low".
