    None...yet
So there's this thing called "specifications". Or "specs" for short. I would assume a cocksure internet warrior like yourself does his own maintenance. As a man should. When you are filling fluids, do you stop at 90%? Do you call it "good enough"?
A spec is developed for a reason. If I did my own maintenance throughout my warranty period, had a massive failure, and Toyota found out that I liked to fill critical fluids below spec, what do you think they'd say? I surmise, that their response would be a very PC version of the term "get fucked".
So when dealing with them, that's the grounds I start on. Thus far it has gotten me a fix, and a warranty extension.
Like I said, I really like my truck. But that don't make it all right.

    Mods coming soon...
Funny is the comments coming from the previous gen owners that didn't drop coin on a new truck whining about people whining. Point being is that your opinion is worthless.

I have had multiple Toys and 4wd vehicles over the years and there's an expectation when you spend the extra money for a new vehicle that you don't typically have when you buy used. I'm the guy bitching about the squeaky springs on 4 month old truck and I can tell you that the noise is not normal. I've worked for a company that built and sold suspension systems and I am very familiar with them, what the typical problems are, what sounds are to be expected and what quick fixes guys can do

If you bought this new and didn't bitch about it you probably have too much money or you don't give a shit about your Taco.

How do you know the fluid fill spec doesn't say Xqt +/-10%?

Are you basing this information on the listed capacity in the specs for the truck or do you have access to the factory transmission filling procedure that indicates precisely the amount delivered and tolerances?

Because there is only one check plug. If it was plus or minus x% there would be three check holes. The middle normal level, an upper plus x% hole, and a lower minus x% hole. Since it does not have this then the fluid should be right on specs in every transmission.

Just rolled over 500 on mine and love it. Yeah, transmission downshifts too often with cruise on slight inclines but that's really only complaint and it's minor. I believe my 05 did the same just not as extreme. No slipping, surging, vibrating, bogging, squeeking, creaking, wheezing, hacking, smoking, etc. etc. etc.

I park it at night and sit and stare at it wondering if it loves me as much as I love it...o_O

    Not necessarily.....

What's the method of filling the transmissions at the factory? Is it by machine or human, if by machine do you know the delivery tolerances and if so can you prove them?

Is the delivery method / machine periodically tested for accuracy and by what procedure? What are the test specifications?

If you can't answer those questions with factual evidence then you're just speculating.

For 99.9% of the trucks out there with "low" transmission fluid, I seriously doubt it was low enough to do noticeable damage.

How do you know you filled it to 100% specification if you haven't drained it of every drop?

The procedure most people are using to check are for topping it off. How do you know you're topping it off exactly at the fill specification and not over filling it unless you drain and measure again?

Is there an allowable over / under filled spec allowed by the transmission manufacturer? You would need proof in either case whethere you say yes or no for your argument to carry any validity.
