Are your lights on small tiny tabs?

I used to have Hella 700 on some small tabs and they vibrated alot. Got Hella 4000 tabs and it fixed the problem. I eventually got Hella 4000s.

Guess I'm just afraid to go through all that trouble and money and still not be pleased with the light

Also are the tabs flat or are they made for tubular uses. (on the edges do they angle downward.

I can understand especially since you already have a bad taste in your mouth due to the mix up.

As I mentioned the LED's will not shine as far as HID spots will, but will shine 'almost' as far distance wise with a shit-ton of light between you and tip of the light pattern.

    Here is another comparison:

They can be used in round tune of a flat surface.
The mounts have a curve or indent in the bottom.

    Best pic I could find:

Here is another way I had 2 10" mounted to a light bar. Used U bolts and had to slightly trim/groove the mounts to fit. This pic was taken after a roll over. a 2500 pound car sat on these lights. Only damage to them was a slight ding in one of the cooling fins. You can see the damage the HID's got :)

lol mike your making it harder for me to decide. I like the LED's because there are no warm up issues to deal with plus i know they are super reliable and will not have to worry about ballast going bad. The LED's do put out more light closer but less of a spot. I guess I can compensate for that later down the road by buying some pencil beams and retrofitting them with HID's that way i have 4 pencil beams for long distance and this LED light bar for close distance. I think i will send it back and exchange for the white one.

Were you going to mount it in place of your signature picture lights?
If so you could always mount the LED on the bottom side of the bar.
Could even make a loop to go around it if you wanted to get fancy ;)

If you are going to weld you may consider something like this:

    Passenger side:

i compared all of them in person believe it or not. the vision-x is by far the best i have ever seen when it comes to led lighting i have 4 of the solstice pods 2 inch by 2 inch little squares. 2 in the flood pattern and 2 in the eliptical pattern. they completely over ride almost every other light on the truck.

they are the shit! but, expect to drop a considerable amount more money on them.

    Another comparison!

    Vision X all Flood:

Here is the Rigid light as it is normally shipped with flood and spot reflectors...

Here is the Rigid light reconfigured to have some more flood. More flood is available if needed...

We didn't have a Vision-X spot or combo to test.

i saw them in person also the vision-x looked much brighter imho:notsure:

they also sell to nasa that makes them bad ass in my book. all leds are nice don't take this the wrong way. i just happen to think that when i saw a good selection of both brands the vision-x was my pick...

elblako91, I am Mikes friend that is pretty familiar with these LED light bars.

Whoever sold you the Rigid light should have told you that the 30" light will not compare to the 4, 55 watt HIDs you already have. So since they already messed up and sent you an amber light, I would send it back and get your money back.

These lights are crazy expensive and it's nuts that there isn't better information out there comparing the different lights. Mike has helped me compare a bunch of different lights. As of right now, a 10" Rigid light is about the equivalent of one 4" 35 watt HID.

Here is a pic of 4, 4" 35 watt HIDs...

Here is a Rigid 40" light with it's regular reflector setup...

The projection is just about as far and the light pattern is much more even.
