Apparently you are ignorant with regard to insurance companies and insurance policies and contracts. Also appears you don’t like or trust LEO’s. Won’t debate you though, too difficult to overcome ignorance.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
So, I don't agree with you, or share your blanket trust in LEO... so that makes me ignorant?

Must be quite a chore being right all the time, and to deal with so many ignorant people.

I just picked up a 98 corolla in Colorado Springs on Craigslist for 700 bucks. Runs good. Nothing wrong with a cheap beater car.

Bought my last Corolla for $750, drove it for 3 years and 25k miles and sold it to a friend for $1,000, he drove if for 2 years and 40k and sold it to a guy for $800. The Corolla I had before that I paid $365 for and drove it for 2 years and 25k before trading it for a Volvo wagon. My current F250 I paid $900 for and it's been trouble for since buying it 5 years ago although to be fair I've only driven it a couple thousand miles.

Point is, lots of great cars out there with a ton of life in them that won't cost you a monthly payment or interest.

This!!! I don’t get why a lot of people are scared of the Japanese cars from the 90s, a lot of them are great and still great. 95% of taco owners wouldn’t hesitate to buy a 1st gen taco with 300k on the dash. A 99 Corolla with 200k on the dash has lots of life in it. Simple to maintain, parts are cheap, good on gas, can’t kill them.

I don't know why I find this comment so funny but it's interesting composition with the addition of the words "ignorant", "don't like", "trust", "won't debate you", and "ignorance". Nothing there is mutually inclusive and nobody should be blindly trusted either.

Tell me about it, for me it was even better as I was able to buy a spare care for $200 and leave it laying around as my own personal junkyard. I know this wouldn't work for most but I did this when I was big on the red block Volvos as well, I'd buy a spare car or two for $100 each and have backup parts for myself as well as being able to help people on TurboBricks when they needed something. Being able to buy a car and a parts car for under $1,000 will go a LONG way.

Not necessarily. A lot of insurance companies have accident forgiveness. So provided she has not gotten into an accident in the last few years she might be A-OK on premiums after this. Same for the ticket (which she admitted to). Thet may or may not count the ticket.

You say she doesn’t have the best of luck but she walked away injury free from a horrible situation. I’d say shes got more than enough luck on her side.

If she can get herself in a Honda Accord or Civic (early 2000s) for $1,000 that would be a good bet.

That is not true. In some states there is such a thing as intentional acts. Drunk driving or severe wreckless driving can be one of them. Insurance company will pay out liability only and can deny any further coverage. Insurance Cos are not required to compensate for intentional acts.

I am not saying this situation is intentional but it is incorrect to say people have coverage no matter what.

If you get behind the wheel of your car drunk and roll it in a ditch your insurance company may be able to say “so sorry, we don’t cover your intentional act of driving intoxicated, you are denied repairs or compensation for your car”.

While it's not a $1,000 beater I've got a very nice car for sale in Northern Colorado: Click me. It's economical, sporty, luxurious and it's got the highest safety rating available.

Still careless/not paying attention/or perhaps on something to drive off a cliff no matter how many people do it,maybe Colorado people should slow down for winding twisting roads and pay attention.
And yes I have driven a lot in Colorado,my best hunting friend lives just outside of Denver,we do a lot of hunting together.
