I just found out today that production on this system is halted for the unforeseeable future. That sucks because I spent a lot of time researching what the best sounding exhaust was, and this seems to be it (subjective). I also want to dump my tailpipe so this would work nicely. Is there anything else out there that is like this, or am I just going to have to cut my factory exhaust and be happy with it?

I have a TRD catback cut by the axle. Pretty straightforward.

    it is hidden.

truck has a high clearance steel rear. Without a cut it would be sticking out and hanging a mile down low which is not good.

had an exhaust shop weld in a Vibrant 1141 resonator to get rid of the highway drone it had.

going to just say cut the tail pipe off just over the axle, still the stock exhaust but also the only real cost might be a new saw-z-all blade, or a wheel for your angle grinder. most exhaust for 2nd gen Tacoma's sounds like hot garbage! I will say this I hate how my flowmaster exhaust sounds, but for $200 brand new in a box I figured i would deal once it gets super obnoxious ill throw on a different muffler. something likely with a U turn outlet close to the inlet to keep some of the noises down

Thanks. I do like the sound of the TRD exhaust too, just a little bit deeper tone than the OEM one. I don't want to spend that kind of money on a system that I'd end up cutting the tail pipe off. Maybe I can source just the TRD muffler somewhere.

do you have the stock exhaust on there now? if just chop that back I think the truck sounded a bit better with the chop. but put any good muffler on you would like still likely cheaper and they might be even cheaper to get a good muffler put on and a dump off that muffler maybe hundred or so depending on muffler cost and their shop rate, if they are willing to weld on a muffler
