Hey guys. My 05 TRD off road Taco's rack cylinder jus gave in due to a rusted spot leaking. Can this be welded? Does it have a piston movement within or just the shaft slides as seals stay still?

You have a rusted spot leaking in your rack? Well anything can be fixed, but you won't know until you have it out and cleaned up.
Either way, once you heat it up welding the housing you will need to find the seals. RockAuto sometimes has a kit but I haven't read anything from anyone doing a rebuild themselves.

Typically it's one piston on the shaft moving with the shaft.

Thanks a lot for the reply. I managed to get a rack. I live in south America. Rock auto and the popular auto places aren't really accessible. Thanks alot though.
