    A thing or two...
I've had my rack and pinion replaced twice. It was at the dealership both times, so OEM.

Looking on RockAuto, new rack and pinions are $275-350. Remanufactured are $215-350, so you're not really saving much by going with the remanufactured unit.

I just checked "Toyota Parts" for a new, OEM rack for my 2004 4X4 and they wanted $2800!!!!!!!! Luckily, I don't need one yet and when I do I'll be buying rebuilt from Toyota.

Not sure if they make one for 5 lugs, but I put an A1 Cardone reman rack in my truck and it's going strong 15k miles/1 year later with a lot of wheeling with heavy tires on it.

Really, any remanufactured can have issues, the warranty is what I would be concerned about. Make sure to ask when purchasing.
