Hello gentlemen and ladies, I'm new to forum and have a question for fellow taco owners. I purchased a 2012 DC short bed Sport last year with a fiberglass topper. After downsizing from Silverado I get a little crazy when it comes time to get some lumber! Don't want to have to hook up a trailer all the time for 2xs and sheet goods. I am considering racks for the cab and topper but will probably do one at a time and utilize some strapping for carrying any goods until complete. What are you all's experience with one set up over the other? Appreciate the comments!

To clarify; If you only had one, which would it be. Any difficulties with just the cab rack/just the topper rack, etc. Thanks!

Topper is easier to load the cab. You can lean the stuff up against the back and slide it on.
Over the cab you have to lift from the side which is harder in parking lots where cars are often close to you on the sides.
The cab is probably going to have a better carrying capacity in most cases unless your topper is reinforced.
The rack on the topper will generally be quieter than on the cab.

If I could only have one I would probably have the one on my topper.
