If it’s already been posted, sorry!, I couldn’t find it!!

I’m new to an 04 2.7l Tacoma, 192k on the clock and seemingly a very good running little truck! Power steering recently started its typical groan and during my investigation, I found fluid leaking from the (or around) the passenger side Gear Assembly Mount Bracket. The grommet is fairly chewed up but I’m perplexed as I wouldn’t think this would be anything other than the name of the part - a mounting bracket. I couldn’t find leaks anywhere else..any help or information would be great. I can try to get pictures/video if needed!

    Search cleaning power steering reservoir

there is a incorporated screen on bottom of reservoir. If screen blocked up, will starve pump. Easy check and fix….just be sure you buy 4-5 cans C of brake clean and new reservoir Oring

If you're getting groaning.......90% of the time its that screen at the bottom of the PS reservoir as CC said

for some reason that clogs fairly easy...........probably hose rot

if you pull that off you really need the oring on the back of that

I tried reusing my old one......and it was no bueno

Thanks! I’d seen this and plan on doing it but unsure if that creates the fluid leaking on the rack assembly mounting bracket? Either way I’ll give it a shot and follow up!
