Did a quick search to see if I could find anything. I know I have seen talk on how to get this connector to release but I can’t find it right now. Any tricks to get this connector apart without breaking it? It doesn’t seem to want to release for me. Trying to remove my grill.

    Any help is much appreciated.

I just did this last night. Its just pressing down the tab on the top in your picture, and then pull apart.

Thanks!!! Just tried again and applied the most amount of muscle I can “muscle” up and it finally released. I was just afraid to break it putting to much force on it.

    Appreciate the help!

Funny, I went through the same thing last night and almost stopped pulling because the connection was so tight. Gave it one last try and it popped off... Its definitely a resilient one. Enjoy the new grille? What did you end up going with?

    A) Push the connector together firmly, B) press the tab until the loop raises, C) pull the connector apart.

If you try only B & C, that happens.

    Resilient it is!

I actually was just replacing the chrome outer ring on my stock grill with a black outer I found locally. Trying to get as much of the bright chrome off the front of the truck as I can. What grill did you decide to go with?

I have a 2018 SR5 double cab... I ended up just going with a knockoff TRD Pro grille. I liked that the default grey of the TOYOTA letters almost matches the metallic grey paint of the truck. Plus I really like the look of the TRD pro grille in general.

The knockoff I got was really good, no issues with quality or fitment. TSS garnish works flawlessly as well. Really pleased.

Glad to hear. Yeah the TRD grille is just a great look on these trucks. And when you can get a color match like that it’s just a bonus.
