Just guessing, but I would think if the brakes are actually applied, whether by you or the ECU, the brake lights would activate. If the radar CC is just slowing the truck down by letting off the throttle, then no lights. But, I would be curious to know if different. Good question OP.

re read manual and I found an answer
It looks like as you approach a vehicle it will decelerate to the set distance and if it needs to decelerate faster it will apply brakes and brake lights.
Just not sure what distance it will use brakes.
Seems like some people are coming up behind me too fast. But of course that could happen anyway.

you set the distance in which it brakes. obviously there is no control over how fast people come up behind you lol

Its application of brakes to slow down and maintain distance will be similar to what you would do given the same circumstances.

    Still not clear.
Do brake lights come on as soon as the car starts to decelerate?

The brake lights are only on when the brakes are applied by the computer. If it just lets off the throttle to slow down, then no brake lights.

It's the same as if you were doing it yourself. If you let off the throttle to slow down, the brake lights don't come on.
