    More money = better.:D j/k (sort of...)

It's not about speeding; it's about locating.

    Pretty much stock
There was like a 8 page thread on this 2 months ago. And what's the point of locating if you doing the speed limit?

the escort is the best overall priced and performance. the valentine is still using it 1991 tecnology and has been passed by by even bel.the only thing the valentine does well is x band which no one uses anymore and it doesn't have 1/2 the features the others have !!!!

I currently run a 9500ix, and have had the solo, the 8500i as well as the V1 and the 9500 has been the best yet. My wife is running my V1 that I bought in January we both have recently recieved speeding tickets. The LEO have gotton pretty wise to people that use radar/laser detectors and with instant on and laser there really is no defense not to mention planes. I drive between 25 and 45k miles per year and my best defense after our tickets earlier this year has been the 9 is fine 10 yer mine concept, they do not even look away from thier speed detection device to see me drive by them. Before laser became so widespread the Ka band was used mainly either the Valentine or the Escorts would give me a 1 to 1.5 mile alert they were near by and I would slow down. Lately my or my wifes detector is ineffective as it goes off within the LEO's device range, meaning they would have gotton me for sure. I have been weening myself away from the radar detectors for the past few months. My .02$

i have had the escort 9500ix for several months now and it is unreal. at first, i thought it worked 50/50. now, i believe it to be at 90% at early warning. no detector is 100%. around here the leo's in town seem to leave the units on all the time, the highway guys do on and off, but as long as theres just a little bit of traffic, u get warning...way ahead...before u are detected..really impressed. i am not a speeder, just want to avoid the trap...you have to subscribe to their service, but u get weekly updates of new speedtraps, speed cameras, red light cameras, etc. it is gps based and learns where the x and k false signals are and keeps a manageable database thereof. the only downside is their customer service is the absolutely worse, badder than bad, they do not care about their customers, escort may be close to bankruptsy. i have been waiting 30 days for a credit which u are supposed to receive in a week. i have contacted 3 times and get nowhere. as far as laser, there are several new things coming(laser mask and laser lion), the current hot system is the laser interceptor(li)...read the blogs at radardetectors.net...

*sigh* *cough* Ahem. I've had the 8500 x50, the solo, a bel, a whistler, and 2 V1s (including my current V1). V1 trumps all others I've owned. Therefore, if this is a thread for subjective reviews disguised as informative posts (and, based on the above-quote, it is), then...

v1 is the best per most users, with it's dual antennas its cant be beaten. however, there are different types of users. if u are in an urban area, the v1's constant x and k warnings gotta be annoying. if v1 would add gps it would be to the next generation of detectors what it has been the last 15 years, the best. per others, the escort redline now is a very close if not a comparable unit. supposidly the v1 goes off patent next year and then the chase starts again. for those who run up and down the long open highways the v1 and redline are top dogs. for more urban use, i prefer my 9500ix for its obvious advantages. they are all better than my early solo4?,cobra and cb...break 19, here comes the doorknocker...

OP, I think Best Buy sells escorts....if your trip begins tomorrow, V1 is out (for now).
