I have a Beltronics and never had issues with it. The top names are Valentine, Bel and Escort. All great detectors.

i have a Cobra, not sure of the model etc. had it about 2-3 years, picks up every grocery store/bank etc with their alarm on or whatever it is, and it picks up cops (obv who have their radar on) up to about 1/2 mile. not bad, i dont speed alot, but it helps on the interestate when their hiding behind the trees in the median.

picked it up at a pawn shop for 40 bucks

The passport 9500ix with live protection is great but expensive if you don't care about price

I have a Valentine One and it has paid for itself over and over....has all directional arrows, shows distance, and has everything from K to Laser!!

Great investment in my personal opinion!

I have the escort 8500 and it has saved me a few times but if the cop uses laser he has me. The problem with radar detectors is that they don't really work to detect laser. And if they do it is far to late for you to slow down. They make laser shifters but they are very expensive. So if the cops in your town don't use laser you should be good wih any of the top names.

If you are talking about a detector, not a thing because they are not illegal in Commiefornia. Laser jammers are a different story.
