This just started after 170 miles of no noise on the new diffs? It sounds like it’s wheel speed related and not driveshaft speed related. Odd noise for sure though and can’t think of something specific. Have you tried running it with the wheels in the air?

I hear a lot of what sounds like tire noise. New tires?

I can hear the clicking / popping noise. Do you feel any jerking or slipping when the noise happens? ( thinking maybe ring and pinion related )

Any difference between light acceleration and full throttle?
Any noise while cruising steady speed? Noise during steady turn at an intersection? ( looking for anything that would relate solely to the Truetrac )

Did shop refill the diff oil?

Thinking either something has come loose, Truetrac not happy, or foreign object in axle.

Drain, pull cover and inspect? [ just my thoughts - I defer to the experts ]

It’s filled to the brim with 85w-140, but something that weirded me out when I got it back from the shop was a little oil coming out of the rear left hub. The noise doesn’t get worse under acceleration, I think it’s consistent with wheel speed. No weird vibrations or anything

I would bring it back and tell them. The last time I had a ticking sound, my rear end blew up 5 minutes later. You shouldn't have any ticking sounds. If you drain the fluid, you will see if there are any bits in there. If you have a tooth that is chipped, it will start to cause similar sounds. It it was not set correctly could be a bad job and since its from ECGS they will warranty it. Its a pain but at least you have that as an option. I have replaced a few with them in the past, and it was seamless.

    Oil coming out?

Possible damage to wheel bearing / seal during service? Someone forgot to re-install a retainer clip? Take it back to the shop and have them diagnose and fix.

My issue is they already replaced a set of gears for a similar reason. I’m hoping my ring and pinion gears aren’t shot again..

Yeah I agree. I’ve been talking to ECGS and they’re gonna warranty the work, but I would really rather not have the truck out for another 2 weeks, just trying to see if the problem is something unrelated to the diff. Guess not lol

Yah I hear ya. It was a 4 week turn around from shipping to and waiting. For replacement. My buddy just had to ship back a new setup as well.
