    Hey everyone.

I'm in the process of replacing my radiator, however, the trans cooler fittings on the new one aren't the same as the old one. So I got some 14mm fittings from O'Reilly's to extend the nipple to attach the hoses to, however, the driver side hose is now about an inch too short.

My question is, can I bypass the radiator's cooler temporarily? I plan on installing an external with a temp gauge later on when I have an extra hundred or so laying around. The parts store is closed for the night and I need this running by tomorrow.

    Thanks guys!!

So your asking if you can just loop the hoses for the transmission cooler and remove it from the system ??

    It is your vehicle.

In the Winter I think you might be fine if I recall it does get a little warm in that area during this time of year.

I would beg or borrow enough to get your stand alone cooler and be done

That's what I was thinking. When I can grab a cooler and a temp gauge and call it good.

    None...yet
I was told by SEVERAL shops, these radiators coolers are pretty much junk.....crimped on sides.....get the external and have peace of mind. I am upgrading mine and will bypass the internal altogether

Well, I put a Hayden 405 Trans cooler in before coming home to Utah since I ended up having to tow... Worked amazing in 3rd gear at 65 the whole way down thru mountain passes.
