Ok, but why would they spend the time and money to keep parts for 20+ yr old vehicles when they know their profit margins will be greater if they concentrate on newer vehicles as there is a large aftermarket availability of equivalent or better parts?

Fuck Prius. I'm not saying buy a new car, I'm saying they won't waste money on parts for old cars when the majority of people won't walk into a dealer when they can get the same or better parts for less money. Every square foot of warehouse space taken up by parts that don't move is a waste of money. And why would I want to give up my 9mpg massage chair?

Well you whining and crying over it isn't gonna bring em back. Buy something else or trade the truck in, there's your choices.

    Yeah.
LOL, exactly how I felt coming in here.

OP, just buy a Denso from RockAuto and pretend it came in a Toyota box. The only differences will be the box, what is printed on your receipt, and a little more dinero left in your account.

I agree that it would suck if there were none available aftermarket and you couldn't get it from Toyota. The good thing about Toyota is that they use a lot of common stuff across models, so finding parts is usually not too hard. I can still get a lot of parts for my '77 Celica.

    Denso is OEM.
    Denso still makes them.
The only difference is not paying more.

Wait until the OP switches sides and decides to buy non-OEM ball joints.

Just wait until Toyota decides to discontinue the LBJs. This forum is going to explode.

And they will, someday. No manufacturer continues providing parts for older models forever. There's no conspiracy behind it, it's called business. When it's no longer cost effective, why continue doing it.
