Radio and clock won’t turn off.

It seems every few months something annoying happens with this truck. Like the title says, with my truck off and the keys out, the radio stays on, the clock also stays on but is dimmer than usual. Any help would be appreciated.

 

When you say the radio stays on do you mean the display stays on or it keeps playing ??

Stock radio or aftermarket ??

It sounds almost like a bad ground feeding through the clock and radio displays

 

Is the key turned fully before you remove it? Sometimes the ignition wears to the point of not fully turning before the key can be removed.

Radio kept playing, display stayed on and everything. As well as the clock. Sorry the problem hasn’t happened again so I’m just waiting for it to reappear so I can go from there.

 

I would futz around with the ignition. See if you can pull the key out before it's fully turned to the "off" position.

 

Worn out or very dirty switch.

More prone to happen with custodial grade key rings and / or high mileage (lots of of on/off action) vehicles.

 

My vehicle Key has one house Key and that is all.

The other eleventeen keys are in my left pocket
