I couldn't find that in the settings menu. There's an "automatic update via GPS," but that setting doesn't do anything about DST. If you select that it simply updates the underlying time. It still stays on Standard Time or DST, as the case may be, according to the DST yes/no setting.

If you check "no" on the "automatic update via GPS" setting, then a menu pops up that allows you to set the time manually.

I believe "update by GPS" only updates time zones as you cross them; ex you drive from NY (EST) to CA (PST) it will change the time as you cross into CST, MST, and PST. I don't believe that setting has any bearing on the DST change. For that you need to select DST or unselect it.

I don't know about time zones (so far I haven't crossed time zones in my truck), but that setting does update the actual time. I did an experiment. I turned off the "update by GPS" setting. A screen popped up that let me set the time manually, which I did according to my watch. Then I turned on the "update by GPS" setting again, and immediately the time was corrected by two minutes. (I guess my watch was off by two minutes.)
This is true. Selecting DST really does give you DST, no matter what season of the year it is. It does not give you an automatic changeover. So you have to play with this setting twice a year.

Not correct, I just made the change last week as I too was surprised to get into my truck and see the clock had not changed. I first selected the DST and that made no difference, I then when back in and found another selection that had to be turned on, as soon as I turned on the second automatic feature the clock changed right before my eyes.

    Go to the settings menu.
    Time Zone = AUTO
    DST = AUTO
Auto Adjust by GPS = ON

On my truck, there is no "auto" setting for the DST. It's either "on" or "off." Maybe this has to do with what kind of radio you have. Do you have premium audio?

When I saw that the time was still on DST, I went into the settings and turned off DST. The time instantly fell back one hour. This had nothing to do with "auto adjust by GPS." That just downloads the actual time. The DST adjustment is controlled by the DST setting, independently.

I suppose that is possible as I have the top of the line navigation radio but heck you would think that something as simple as DST would be the same from radio to radio.

But again I was surprised it wasn't turned on by default and also surprised when I set the DST option to "on" the clock did not update until I went in again and selected "auto".

I'll try to post some photos so that you can compare.

It does make a difference which radio you have whether or not you have the DST auto update.

It says so right here in the owners manual. Y'all got one a them...right?:boink:

Might be hard to see but there's an asterisk there next to "Auto" in #6 in the function menu.

This being for my '19, other years might be different.

It's the same for my 2021, but the clock adjustment instructions are buried on page 61 of the "Navigation and Multimedia System Manual," not the regular owner's manual.

The auto DST setting is only available on the Premium Audio, which I don't have.

It didn’t work on my truck either. My clock was off by an hour, turning “DST” to off corrected it.

    21 OR MT without premium

Well there we go and why this "feature" is limited to the premium audio, only Toyota can answer that. There would be zero cost to Toyota to have this "feature" on your radio unless someone owns the "rights" to automatic DST and they demand a royalty for each radio with the feature. Before anyone replies I'm just being sarcastic on the royalty payment but geez Toyota.

Yup, my 2017 did it off my phone as well. I'm honestly not a fan of what they did to the radio / nav system going from 2017 to 2021. The thing is so slow to boot up and start playing, no cd/mp3 player, and the response time on the touch screen & hard buttons is ridiculously slow. I like the seat position better in my 2021. Other than that, I want my 17 back
