I have a 2009 Tacoma and the darn stock radio, the tall one, has some issues with the volume. You can only operate it from the steering wheel controls. Is there a good place to rebuild itor an easy fix? Just annoying and I don't like aftermarket decks

Years ago they were the only electronics repair company I used for a couple of decades.

My radio knob is wonky too. Turning it down usually cranks the volume way up.

I just stick with the steering wheel controls.

Same on my 2010 that I just bought. The knob works but sometimes goes up instead of down, it's temperamental. I replaced mine with a radio from a 2014.

You'd probably be able to find a stock replacement for cheap, likely a lot cheaper than you could get someone to fix yours. You could also do a little research and see about upgrading to a radio from a 12-15. I love my new setup, but it was a lot of work for my specific situation (2010 JBL to 2014 JBL). Depending on what stereo you have it may be a simple swap.

My 2010 has a tendency to shut it self off. A couple years ago when it started acting up I pulled the fuse and it was ok for a while. Now it's going through a similar phase. I guess I'll try the electrical contact cleaner before pulling the fuse.
