i got in my 07 tacoma today and i noticed the radio stations had changed from my programmed stations to other random stations. also there is no volume for my radio. the volume nob makes the volume meter lower and raise but no sound comes from the speakers. however, the cd player works and i can hear music from the cds.....but the volume control meter still raises and lowers when twisting the control nob but the actual volume from the speakers does not change. what the heck is going on? anyone else have this problem? what are some good full display stereos with the navigation feature that are reasonably priced?

My stock radio sucked to. it would change stations all the time and wouldn't eject my cd. I yanked it out and put a touch screen in and never been happier. I don't have any recommendations on which brand our type to use. Good luck

    Sounds like it STB.
If you didn't have it out of the dash.. probably not worth investigating too far. I've rarely been able to find some easy solution to stuff like that. Maybe pop your battery terminal to try to reset it.. beyond that. No suggestions. I did have a nice pioneer touch screen in my last car. Was pretty nice. Slow as shit.. windows is a sucky device operating system

But if you already have in phone nav and a great dock.. it kind of makes you feel stupid for having both!.. thats 1 of only 2 reasons I am currently running stock. The other being.. nothing quite ever fits/matches like stock.

yea.. If it didn't have aux port It would be gone fast. Or get the toyota aux/ipod add on for 40 bucks.. Did that to wife's toyota.

One thing though. I may be old and have ears from years of wearing headphones professionally, grinding in the garage for fun and quite a bit of firearms noise without the sense to put in ear plugs.. but I can't hear music with the windows down. My radio stays at 55-max most of the time.. Roll up the windows and its fine, though not rockin.

But the vibration in the roof and doors makes me think that getting more stereo isn't the best option either.
