Edit - This only applies to pre 2020 radios. My mistake.

It's in the first post. But fair point as I know you always go way out of your way to help people.

These are the two plugs that you need and how to wire them. Blue with white (not hooked up in this pic) is the remote on and the two gray are the right front to get the high level from (should be joined to other two gray in case that's not obvious).

Here’s the pin out for the HU.
    Thanks to @destin_meeks
Pin 9 is for amp turn on.

I can let you know what wire is the turn on behind the radio if you still want to go that route. A lot of mis-information in this thread so I want to clear it up for you.

-all the pictures and threads people have posted are for PRE-2020, which is totally different wiring.
-the 2020+ DOES have a turn-on wire behind the radio.

I will give you a fair warning, it will be a very thin gauge wire so be prepared to be super careful when splicing.

Hey, have you tried hooking up a multimeter to the blue to test if it indeed only come on with the radio?

Sure! I’m looking for one that only turns on with the radio though; not one that comes on when you start the truck.
I found the one that comes on when you start the truck; in the gray plug it’s the grey one on the blue wire side...middle row...one spot in from the outside.

is that the one you were going to recommend?

Honestly, that one will be perfectly fine. I’ll have to pull the full diagrams in AllData to see if I’m actually correct about the turn-on wire. There doesn’t appear to be one shown in any of the basic diagrams, but they can sometimes not show everything. I may be right, I’m probably wrong, but the grey wire will work perfectly. The sub won’t play if the radio is off and no audio is being played so no worries

If you don’t mind trying to find that remote turn on I would be SUPER grateful. Idk, I guess I’m weird but if I have the radio off I’d rather not have additional electronics on that don’t need to be.

Well it won’t pull extra power if it’s not playing, if that’s your concern. Maybe 2-3 Amps, if that.

Nah. Just more of, if I have it on for 30 hours not using it that’s 30 hours off the lifespan, and 30 hours for it to spazz out. Lol

Any luck on the remote turn on wire by chance?

Been a busy week. I’ll have to swing by the old shop and use their AllData account and I honestly don’t know when I’ll be able to fit that in the schedule.

@caribe makaira seems to have access to a lot of info and he said it does NOT have that remote/antenna wire and he may very well be correct. It would be very strange for toyota, but we’ve seen some odd stuff so who knows.

You could always grab a PAC TR7 or similar and make your own remote trigger with signal sense.

Gotcha. No worries. Don’t trouble yourself. Question on the TR7 though. I just looked at the manual and it looks like I just connect it to 12v (either switched or constant) and ground. Then I can use the blue wire from it as an amp turn on wire? Guessing I would just cap off the rest of the wires?

Also, for the 12v could I just tap into the power being fed into the kicker key or the hideaway?

Nevermind. I reread it and found out I need to connect the green wire to a speaker positive. And then program it to do what I want. Seems like a valid idea to me. Thanks for recommending it!

How about a tiny on-off toggle switch...?
