First of all, I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving weekend. I hope all of you guys / gals along with your families are well, healthy and safe and most importantly staying afloat financially.

    SO,

Im need of a new radio unit. Ive had my stock for 6yrs and its time to swap it out to something more current. Im looking into Crutchfield as it seems to be the go to place.

Im wondering what everyone else has and how it looks. Currently I would like a unit the will fit without sticking out. Unless it looks clean of course but i like the flush fit. I dont know what size I need for a flush fit so please let me know.

I have a 2014 tacoma PreRunner SR5. And I use an iPhone. I know all head units now offer CarPlay along with Android.

Thank in advance and please post a pic of you radio head unit!

Pioneer head unit, PAC steering wheel control modual, Hard wired Sirius radio, Hard wired radar detector, Hella Supertone horns, Blacked out badges, Smoked Tails, BHLM (color matched Speedway Blue), T-Rex Eyelids, Black Powder Coated Billet Grill, Color Matched Engine Cover, Lund in channel vent visors, FJ Cruiser wheels, Leer 100XQ shell, OEM bed mat, Piezo beeper for locking doors, Tinted front side windows, Black Westin bull bar, Aires tube steps, Mini Maglite Mod, D-Cell Maglite Mod, Weathertech Digifit Floor Mats
You have a few basic decisions to make.
    1. Single DIN, or double DIN.
    2. Buy a dash kit for the single or double DIN head unit. The OEM radio is an integral part of the dash and cannot be reused. The dash kits are universal (as far as I recall), so it doesn't matter which head unit manufacturer you choose to use.
    3. Select your new head unit. The Pioneer head unit I bought came with all of the accessories/trim pieces needed to install it into the dash kit. If you use the Crutchfield website and enter your vehicle info, I'm pretty sure they will tell you what will fit in the dash.
    4. Make sure you buy a wiring harness that is specific to the manufacturer of the new head unit so you can splice in the new head unit wiring into the truck wiring. It's pretty straight forward. If I can do it anyone can.
One work of caution.... Take your time disassembling the dash. The plastic can be scratched very easily (at least my 08 is like that), so take your time and be gentle.
