Can't believe it happened, my so called upgrade radio - knob just broke off. First time ever, for me, and I'm talking 50 years of owning various vehicles. No hard use, if anything, I'm dainty when using all my vehicles switches. I'm assuming it was probably a poor install at the factory. I have an appointment with the dealer on Monday and we'll see what they have to say. Just a tad p'd-off it occurred...

    That seems overly dramatic.

If you guys take a look at the tundra forum you will figure out exactly what the Tacoma will have issues wise. Fuel gauge reset, bad radio knobs, etc. The radio knob for my 2024 Tundra was cracked from the factory. It’s very very very common with the new Tundras.

Those plastic screws on the bezel are torque to yield with a specific tightening pattern. Could easily be an error during install.

This seems to be very common with Tundras using that same knob, now the Tacomas.

Toyota is getting worse and worse. These trucks should be 30k not 50k.

Five minutes with some super glue to repair that internal knob section and you’re back in business.

Unfortunately, there’s no more durable alternatives at a reasonable price. so we’re stuck with em for now. I saw that someone in the tundra forums was offering replacement metal or 3d printed buttons, but they were like 200.00…

Here’s a3d printed 20.00 replacement on Etsy that might replace your knob.

It looks cool when it breaks off in your hand. Toyota took the time to make the knob stylish but it won't stay attached to the radio.

I'm glad the poverty-spec 8" displays aren't having any issues. Yet.

You hate to see that on any brand new Toyota, but they’ll eventually nail down early stuff like that with their factories and/or suppliers.

Of course, a typical content creator on YouTube these days would re-enact twisting the knob off on his iPhone, and offer his unqualified commentary about how Toyota quality is failing. Title it “My Tacoma Fell Apart!”, and promptly collect 450,000 views…

I would normally agree but this same fragile knob has been problematic since the 2022 launch of the tundra. 2.5 years…still fragile.

Put some shrink wrap on the knob to reinforce it. Easy fix.
