Radio Lighting Issue

Has anyone had an issue with the lights on the power and volume knobs not working? Mine seem to be dead but the rest of the lights are working on the radio as well as all the other dimmable lights in the truck. Is there a fuse tied to just those lights? Been searching around and havent found anything yet.

 

?? There never were any lights on the knobs.

 

I mean the lights right above it. The little curved one seen in the picture below

 

I'm 99% sure I never had those lights.

Yeah... I was messing around with wiring recent and did an update to the radio so I'm more trying to figure out what happened.

 

I believe they are supposed to dim and go on with the headlights

 

Just checked mine and missing those knob lights.also. Same radio with no updates since new. Strange....

 

From my experience I believe they work when the headlights are on.

 

Ive never noticed those little lights... now Im gonna have to check.

Is this only on more recent Tacoma's? I have a 16 and those lights do not exist

 

Maybe a JBL only lighting? mine doesn't have them.

 

I have a 17 and I have noticed them but really haven’t paid attention recently so not sure. Think I’m about to go check.

Just went back to look at the knob lights that op posted again and noticed the JBL logo on the radio. Different radio, I don't have the JBL head unit.

 

Yeah I actually do have them. Didn't see them at first because it was really dim. But they are there with headlights on.

I do have a JBL radio but I've seen pictures of the accent light without the JBL logo

 

So I just went down to the truck and confirmed they work only with the headlights on and also they dim with the gauge cluster dim switch. So the dimmer your gauge cluster the dimmer the lights will be. Got a shitty day pic but here’s mine in action. Removed my @Tacowiede custom knob to show it better. Last pic is just showing the upgraded radio knobs.

 

Corrected... Just checked AGAIN and I do have them with the headlights on.
