    Anyone else have this issue?

My radio will sometimes freeze up. Music stops, screen locks, and unless I push and hold the power button to reset it... it stays frozen for minutes, then eventually restarts itself.

It does this while using the radio, bluetooth, navigation... doesn't seem to matter. I'm dropping it off at the dealership tomorrow. It's on Toyota's dime, as it's less than 3 years old, and has just under 30k on the odo.

Nobody? Was hoping someone could tell me what it was, or what it may be. I'm thinking they'll have to replace the head unit.

My 14 radio did the same thing, I ended up replacing it an aftermarket head unit. I've read other complaints on here of people with the same problem. But if it's under warranty, take it to the dealership. Hopefully they don't give you the "oh we can't duplicate the concern" run around.

Okay... I got the Nav/JBL as well. I'll let you know how it goes. Additionally, when I bought the truck the ECM was bad. They had to replace it, but gave me an 8 yr 100k mile comprehensive warranty. They best fix it right or they'll be paying for it again.

Dropped it off. Service advisor said they'll check for a software update and do that if it is required... if not, they'll try to duplicate the issue (it'll happen) and go from there.

Don't you love it when a vehicle is equipped with out dated technology. AND it's the user is not able to update on their own?

Wait till you see what they want to charge for map updates.........

Mine did the same thing, it seemed to be associated with using the maintenance reminder function, which I'd set up early on to remind me of oil changes and whatnot. Every time the reminder would go off, the radio would start acting wonky - freezing up, restarting, etc. I turned off all the maintenance reminders, and no problems since.

it's' not very scientific, and others have told me I'm nuts, but since I removed/disabled the maintenance reminders I've not had a single rebooting issue. YMMV.

My 2014 locked up yesterday when I hit the source icon in the upper right corner of the screen. I turned the truck off and that seemed to fix it.:notsure:

My 2015 Nav, non-JBL does this quite often. Mostly on longer drives. Interesting bit about the maintenance reminders, time to turn those off.

    Too few to list.
Does anyone one know if we can update software ourselves?
