Radio not detecting GROM ipod interface

First of all, Hi there!

I apologize for invading the tacoma forum with my 2000 Toyota Avalon. There aren't a lot of forum for Avalon that is active. My trim is XLS with premium JBL 6 CD changer.

here is the problem:

• my radio does not detect the GROM-IPD3 even double tapping the CD button.
• There IS power comming to the IPD3.
• I am using the bluetooth dongle and my iphone 3GS detects and is connected.
• I even tried with the 3.5MM jack input and same result.
• Seems like everything works between the iphone and IPD3, but NOT the radio and IPD3
• I tried updating the IPD3 to the Latest firmware = same result.
• I tried disconnecting the power to the radio before i plug in the IPD3.
• I had the USA spec PA15TOY and worked flawlessly and it switch to AUX when I press the CD button once.

• **I do notice on the wiring harness that grom gave me (labeled as TOY1) the white wire was cut. I tried reconnecting the white wire and same problem..**

I contacted grom today I have to wait till monday to get answer from them

Here is the White wire I was talking about:

This side is connected to back of my radio, (the harness w/2 wires are for NAV, I do not have Nav). the WIRE is labeled as "TOY1"



This harness is to the GROM-IPD3. Notice where I drew the arrows. I did not cut that.




Left: GROM IPD3................Right: USA SPEC PA15TOY. the harness pin connecter are on bottom for the usa spec and top for the ipd3. I just want to put up this pic to see if it will be any kind of help.
