    Good afternoon everyone.

I have a 2018 Tacoma TRD PRO with radio issues. Awhile back, the sound just went away. The radio would turn on but I had no sound at all. I have never had an issue with the sound. I shut the truck off and restarted it and it would come back again. I had to have it shut off for awhile for it to work again I don’t know why…

I should say that I installed OEMAudio+ speakers and Subwoofer. I did NOT have to cut any wire nor solder anything it was plug and play. I installed those things years ago and never had an issue.

anyways, my sound would just go out after awhile and it got to the point that even turning off the truck won’t do anything anymore. I also don’t have any warranty on the truck anymore :(

My question is, does the truck or the head unit have a fuse for the speakers? I checked the fuse for the radio but that’s fine (the radio buttons and gps is working fine)

I’m not too mechanically inclined but I think I may have blown some type of fuse. My control knob for the sub is now off. I can’t really shut it off, and a way to know it’s getting power is through a little light.

I read some threads that an update might be needed or that I may need an aftermarket one.
1- if I keep my radio, how can I do the update? Is that something the only the dealership can do?

2- if I get an aftermarket (which I want) my fear is buying something pretty expensive for it to not work.

I been waiting for the weather to get a little better to at least try to pull the radio out and see if it could be something loose back there.

any input would be a great help. Thank you in advance and please reach out if I didn’t specify something.
