This may be unrelated, but just in case it has something to do with it.

Today I had some time to kill sitting in my Tacoma. Looking at the radio, the lower left button says "PWR" but when you push it, it only really mutes the radio. So I figured maybe you have to hold it. Well, after holding for a few seconds, it shuts-off and reboots right away.

So, I guess there is no way to really shut if down (I know about the screen off function).

But this lead me to think that maybe there's a connection with the reboots and high humidity(rain). Maybe something doesnt like high humidity and makes a contact (like holding PWR button).

So when it happens, do you guys use AC? to dry out the air?

Mine is a 2017 with only 750km so it hasn't done it yet (on it's own that is)

So, with this latest update from the dealer - drove for about 2 hours in pouring rain and no more rebooting.

However, now after a while playing normally via Bluetooth, it stops playing and the screen displays 'insufficient connectivity' :censored:

Once that happens, I have to connect the phone to the unit via cable to get it to work...

I guess Ive been fortunate with my 2015 entune w/nav. It did reboot a couple times a few months ago. There was an automatic update of some kind probably 1 month ago. It took a while, but everything works as it should. I will keep an eye on this thread for the future.

Went to the dealer for the complementary 6-month check and the software update was performed. RE: T-SB-0106-16.
Now have new 010189 premium updated software. Maybe no more reboots...

I had it happen on my '16 a week ago and it would reboot every couple minutes on it's own. Took it to dealer and they said there is an upgrade but the file they had to corrupted so I had to make another appointment to bring it in on a M-F from 8-4 so they could have Toyota Tech Support help them fix it. WTF??????? Not happy with this as it's costing me another day off work for them to figure out how to fix their problem. Then the service tech told me to video tape the next time it happens so that they can prove it to Toyota, I guess a customers word is not good enough and why would I want to come in for service if the problem was "Fake".

    Any thoughts on this????

My dealer had to download the file inorder to complete the T-SB. Nonetheless, I was out of the service center in an hour an a half including the 6mo free service. Just mention that you want the software update to fix your booting problem.

Raining today. Rebooting constantly. Turned on HD Data Setting 'Enable Data Download via HD Only' and rebooting stopped. I've had it in 4 times for this issue and updated software. Man this is frustrating. image.jpgimage.jpg

I got the update from the dealer and I haven't had the issue happen again, but it hasn't rained hard enough to know if it actually worked or not. Sounds like I can count on another trip to the service dept....

Mine would constantly reboot in the rain until I changed the HD setting as well. Hasn't rebooted for a few weeks now through plenty of rain. I haven't had any update done.

I update them to correct the issue.. better than dealing with it or disabling features.

    Pm for details.

Mine's not rain related. For the first time since purchasing mine started rebooting. No rain or humidity and this evening I had to use the horn. Immediately after using the horn the radio rebooted and as I was running errands between 3 stops it rebooted a total of 5 times. Never done this prior.

    Couples possible correlations

    1) Started immediately following using the horn. Not the first time I've used the horn, but fairly coincidental.
    2) Reboots following were entirely random. They rebooted even after the vehicle had a complete start/stop event, so it power cycled.
    3) Noticed before the first reboot, pandora was trying to launch and couldn't. Perhaps something going on between the phone and entune. I power cycled the phone and will continue to look for correlations.

I'll take it to the dealership to see if they can apply an update, as Murray is suggesting fixes it.

Glad I have an SR5 without the premium NAV. My radio doesnt have this issue.
But the update does apparently fix it, as a billion of you have experienced...

Texas truck here, just fell victim to the rebooting yesterday, in the rain. Rebooted several times on the way to work this morning. I guess I'll have to call the dealer to get a software/firmware update. My software is 01017D so I'll see if I can get 010189. It is the JBL Premium system.

When mine started yesterday, I was sitting in a drive thru line with audio off so it is not related to the radio being in HD. My phone is an iPhone 6 and it was connected via bluetooth. This morning the phone paired as it always does when I get in but the radio rebooted at least five times on my five mile drive to work. Due to traffic lights and traffic density, that drive takes about 15 minutes.
