Heavy rain here in Seattle area. Entune crashed and rebooted four times on a short ride to work.

This is the first times it's happened to me.

It happened just 1 day to me when it was raining a lot. Think it rebooted 5 times that day. Hasn't any other time. Only had the truck for 13 days. Will wait and see if it is the heavy rain thing. Doesn't really make any sense though.

I don't really care. Who wants to listen to the radio uninterrupted anyways? I just chalk it up to a cool new effed up feature that Toyota will wiggle and waggle about when you ask them to fix it. Oh it's your Samsung phone, Oh it's your iPhone, Oh, it's the boogie man over there in the corner.

Never do they say we have a crappy entune system that needs to be fixed or replaced. Ha ha ha ha ha! Just have to laugh about it.

Happened to me today for the first time also. Twice. Also in the Seattle area in the heavy rain.

So......why might rain cause the radio to reboot? Drippy bits somewhere? Antenna?

Who knows. Toyota tells you to look over there, look over there. Not our problem.

No idea, but they're appears to be a correlation. I guess I'm adding T-SB-0103-16 to my 10k service list.

Just a thought, but if rain triggers it, the only thing I can see is the antenna.

"Maybe" the radio leaks a bit of voltage to the antenna line and when it rains, the antenna gets shorted to the body of the truck. When that happens, it could have the radio freak out.

I don't have mine yet (still waiting on delivery) but it would be a good idea to disconnect the antenna (if getting to the connector is somewhat easy) and seeing if it still happens during rain.

I live out on the Kitsap Peninsula in WA state.

I've had this same intermittent problem. It happened about 20 times yesterday, but would not do it once while I was at the dealer for my 15,000 service. They recommended that I attempt to get a video of it if it happened again.

Got about 20 miles from the dealership and it did it again. I got it on video and called up the dealer. They asked me to come back in today. I showed them the video and they said that they would update all of my software and we will see if that fixes it. I'm hopeful that it will, but if not I figure at least I've got some dealer documentation of the issue started.

Drove around a bit after the dealership and it hasn't done it again. I'll post back in this thread in the next few days to let you guys know whether it appears to have fixed my issues. Especially with this big storm rolling through.

Update to my post 2 days ago.

The updates at the dealer didn't fix the issue. Driving yesterday in the lovely PNW weather my head unit rebooted multiple times.

Using an iPhone 6s connected through Bluetooth. I had music on my phone playing and navigation running.

I'll be calling the service department back tomorrow to let them know.

Oh Oh .... let me be the first one that guesses that the dealership tells you that its your iPhone. Want to bet? :D
I hear a familiar echo from your Toyota dealers sevice shop telling you that you need to update your phone OS or some other bullshit. Though I hope you prove me wrong so let us know what magic they are offering?

They already mentioned that when I went in, but I told them that the problem occurs whether my phone is synched through Bluetooth/USB or not. I've noticed, the same as others, that this issue usually comes up when there is severe bad weather in my area... the downside is that in western Washington state that can be fairly constant from October to May.

We shall see what they say when I call in tomorrow.

I'll say it again... Somebody has to try and disconnect the antenna from behind the radio. The antenna is the only part of the radio that is exposed to the elements.

it's obviously not a permanent fix, but it may help find a solution.
