Interesting. So did they update the firmware or just the software?

I plan to trade my truck in for a base model SR in 2018.

Really don't care if they fix it or not.

First real rain in many months and was using Pandora and it kept resetting. I'll be watching this thread and have a 10,000 mile service coming up where I'll mention this.

Mine rebooted a bunch of times over the weekend and yep, it was raining like crazy. It seemed to only happen when I had Pandora playing via Entune, didn't see it happen when I was just using the radio. I have an appointment on Wednesday so we'll see...

My tundra rebutted twice on the way to work today and it's dry. My phone seems to be the trigger every time. It has worked perfect for maybe 2 weeks and is now acting up again. 100% sick of it and ready to switch back to Tacoma, but not if I'm going to have the same problem

So has anyone done the firmware (not software) update and is still getting the problem?

It's been a couple weeks but my started rebooting again yesterday. It had rained but my truck was in the garage, didn't get wet. Rebooted yesterday and today.

My 2016 TRD Sport has had radio issues since the day I bought it in March. It usually reboots more in the morning. Sometimes it'll come on with a non-responsive touch screen but will respond to the steering wheel controls. Other times it'll say to insert the navigation SD card, won't show a clock, presets will be missing, and icons such as Pandora will be missing.

I've noticed in the past couple of weeks that it seems to be affected by temperature as it's gotten worse after getting better over the summer. It's at the dealer for a fourth attempt at fixing it, and I think they're finally going to give in and replace it.

Just had mine in for 5k service yesterday and the tech said they applied a new update to the radio which should hopefully resolve the rebooting issue.

This started happening to me too this last weekend. Got our first rain since I've owned the vehicle and low and behold the system reboots every 2 minutes. Kinda fishy that a software update is supposed to fix everything. seems more like a water intrusion issue and that something needs to be weatherized.

The entune Navi head unit requires a Vehicle Speed Sensor signal to calculate your movement and location

edit: I just want to add more details about my radio. Its a 2014 head unit thats installed in an 08 tacoma. I have steering wheel controls, bluetooth mic working. After the code update it was a bit more responsive but I decided to connect the vss to the headunit because it was required.

Got the update yesterday and it's supposed to rain over the next few days so we shall see. We had a big storm last weekend when I noticed this happening and when I was talking with the SA after it was done, he said they had a bunch of Tacomas coming in for the update this week lol.

Not sure when the update went out, but it's rained several times and my 2017 has never had a reboot (knock on wood)

SA said it was released a few days ago. He also said that it's possible that Toyota will release this stuff to the public so you can download it and update yourself since it's just a file on a USB drive but as it is now, you need a techID to log in and get it. It would be nice to not have to visit the dealer for these.
