    Hello all,
Just purchased a 2004 DC. Wondering if anyone has recommendations for a radio&speaker upgrade.

Loyal crutchfield customer - I like the idea of having a backup camera and Apple car play but not a deal breaker. The 9” inch boss looks like a good deal but I worry about it’s reliability - anyone have experience with it?

Problem with a lot of the double din touch screen radios is they are at the perfect angle to get a ton of glare, and so you can't see it during the day. If you go double din I would find a radio that has a tilt feature, I understand that makes it easier to see.

I got a smoking deal on a Kenwood DMX1037S so that’s what I went with. I’m enjoying wireless CarPlay way more than I expected.

The problem is that the shifter hits the volume knob in park. Right now I have a 4Runner shifter in, but working on a custom one for an even better fit.

Sony just released a large tilting and swiveling unit that may fit right in.

I’m also on the fence with Boss, but I believe they have a 3 or 5 year warranty when ordered through Crutchfield, so you will at least be covered if you have issues.

Leveling kit, hydro dipped rims & skid plate on 2013, 6” pro comp lift & color matched rims on 2006.
Went with this for daughter’s truck. $200 from Crutchfield. Apple CarPlay, backup camera.

In 2019, I replaced the radio in mine with an Alpine ILX-W650 and I've had an excellent experience with it. It's not a super cheap one at $300 or so, but it's been dead reliable and works great! It's been replaced with the ILX-W670, but that should be an excellent option too! It does support apple carplay and a reverse camera. Additionally, you can get a little bypass on ebay for it ($11), since there's no transmission or parking brake connection to allow deeper settings to be unlocked.
