Radio static with light bar on ?

just installed secondary fuse block so I have nothing connected to my fuse box and I’m still getting heavy static on my radio with my 22 in light bar on . It don’t do it with the 4 inch pods any more so thats good just not sure how it could Be happening other than weak alternator?

 

Less expensive LEDs will generate electrical interference. Typically not much can be done about it unfortunately.

 

Wow okay that makes since I got a shorty antanna so the weak signal on top of them being cheaper lights ain’t helping . Do you know exactly what about them causes it . The pods are 18 watts each seem really low but I’m guessing that has nothing to do with it

 

LEDs are generating radio frequency interference which your radio is picking up. If you think the radio reception is bad, try a CB with the lights on - pure static, guaranteed!

 

Get a ferrite ring and wrap the power wires through it. The more wraps the better.

 

Where did you ground everything out at?

 

Got one that came with my smart tv so I’ll try it out see what it does

 

I got my lights grounded to the same ground the battery is on . The one directly to the right of battery on inside of fender

 

This is what I got , is the a specific spot I should use it , before after relays , and just the power wires ?

 

Haha thanks for the info man , if my radio had an aux wouldn’t have this issue lol , this just makes getting aftermarket head unit that much more imperative,

 

Get that as close to the light bar as you can.
