I have a 2019 Tacoma SR, so yes i have the base model and i have the factory base model radio. I want the head unit with the larger screen, i know I have to purchase a few things besides the head unit. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I can get OEM models for this? I prefer to stay OEM and I would prefer to take it somewhere to get it installed. (i just dont trust myself enough to do it lol)

any help would be great! :)

    Welcome to TW

The upgraded head unit is insanely expensive unless you can find someone that is selling theirs personally.

Not knowing what the SR of that year is equipped with (sensors, steering wheel configuration, GPS antenna, phone mic, wiring harness, etc...) I really can't tell you what will work and what won't, but it's possible that a head unit swap will not be such a simple one.

An aftermarket will be far cheaper and easier, and look better than what you have.

If you really really want an OEM, watch the thread for the rare unit that pops up here. As I said, the parts houses that sell them are insane, like $1300 insane.

That seems like alot. The only reason I didnt wanna go aftermarket is because I dont want the dealership to have any reason not to honor my warranty

In that case, definitely go aftermarket. Swapping OEM with OEM still alters the warranty (but only for the part you're altering, not the rest of the truck), and the new warranty covering the new head unit is far better on the aftermarket part.

As for any part of the truck not radio related, your existing warranty still covers that. A dealer won't deny a broken air conditioner because there's a different head, for example.

OH! Very good to know! I was under the impression that once one thing was altered the whole warranty goes out the window.

That said, do you have any suggestions for aftermarket parts? And would somewhere like best buy be able to install that for me?

There's bound to be plenty of places who could install for you locally. I would just do a quick google search and read the reviews.

As far as aftermarket parts go, https://www.crutchfield.com/ is where I personally purchased speakers and head units for past trucks. Most recently bought a Kenwood head unit for my 2002 through them. Worked flawlessly and fit perfectly.

    Yes.

Back in the day Best Buy was a good resource for installs. (probably still are). They aren't the best on price or selection, but they always had good support for things I bought there.

Your local Car Audio shops are what I would prefer, especially if they are starting to franchise to multiple locations. (Car Toys for example has locations in a couple of states, and you can get support at any one of them.)

For "window shopping" check out Crutchfield.com. They are online only, so no professional install. But they are good for understanding what a reasonable price is, before negotiating with a brick and mortar store.

Also, if you change your mind and are feeling brave, crutchfield provides very detailed install instructions. Even a novice can follow their sheets. They are who I buy from these days.

The only difference that you will get with another OEM would be 1 inche is it worth the expense for that. just saying

I ditched my factory unit with a Pioneer. I got everything from Crutchfield and the install was very simple. Plug n' play

Taking out the old radio was very easy to do.
