Moab has quite a few trails that will put you at extreme uncomfortable angles for more than a few seconds. I can easy fill it after a trifecta run with rusty nail.

Even at extreme angles your liquid oil shouldn't be reaching the PCV pickup baffle.

i just changed my oil on Friday after 4500mi with plenty of redline testing for one of the tuners around here. i have a single JLT can setup, not a dual or fancy anything, and it caught just under 2 oz. of thin opaque black oil with a terrible gas smell.

in previous oil changes i caught probably less than 0.5oz per 5k, but i wasn't running up to redline regularly then.

People love to say catch cans are snake oil, but they’re just….dumb. They work plain as day. And if you don’t want to feed your engine it’s own shit, put one in. Even if you’re not FI. I’d buy mine all over again.

    Nice!

FYI those spring clamps are not needed at all as the hoses push tightly against the barb fittings and there is almost no pressure in the system.

I have a basic jlt single catch can, this is how much oil it's collected in 10k miles of mostly highway driving. You can imagine how much oil that will be over a few years, 150k miles.

I dump it every other week when cleaning the truck, and plan on cleaning the catch can filter every other oil change. Easy preventative maintenance.

Just noticed the kit won’t work exactly for MT trucks. Gotta order extra hose I imagine.

Guess I'm dumb here. What harm is not having one doing to my engine. Please show me a specific example of our engine.

Besides extreme angles offroad. I agree in that one. My truck will likely never see that but would add if it would.

Stock wheels and suspension. Random "utilitarian" mods featured on this great forum.
I get more in the colder months due to better condensation. Attached picture is probably 4-5k worth. If the cheap CC I helping that not make it into the intake, definitely worth it.

Our other car is a non mpi GDI and I get more actual oil mixed in with the creamy goodness. Pretty nasty stuff.

Take it apart and compare the inside to one that has a CC equipped. No one is going to do that but it would give you your answer. Not having one is not dumb - saying they don't do anything is dumb. Distinctions matter. I won't be misquoted.

Nobody misquoted anyone. You made a claim and I asked you to show proof of it. I see no evidence that a small bit of oil hurts our engines.

In fact the biggest failure we've seen is burnt valves. I think this is from valves hanging open. Maybe a little oil on the stems will help.

I can’t tell from the photo - is there room to remove the catch bowls without removing any mounting bolts?

I made this post for the Radium Engineering catch can system feedback, especially mine.

NOT for pros and cons of catchcans as there are three or more threads on Tacoma World already.

Please don’t muddle up this thread with non-Radium Engineering info, contents, optioning, etc. Please be kind and delete your non-Raduim posts. Thank you all for understanding.

Either of the two more needed than the other? I’ve ran catch cans on all of my last FI vehicles. Have been debating on one for the Tacoma. Except 500 bucks is a bit steep. Especially if one works much better than the other. Half the cost!
