I had them and they did what they were supposed to do. Over time, they became brittle due to UV exposure, cracked and eventually fell apart.

I never really liked them but I have considered getting some lately. Living in Idaho you never know what the weather will be like. A lot of times I leave my windows cracked when the truck is parked because it gets hot, but we also get freak down pours and you never know if your interior is going to get soaked.

Obviously a form vs. function opinion thread- I just like what they do and it’s not about the looks for me, else the RTT and home made rack would also have to go. They work, and I have spoken.

I had those kind on my old Jeep Liberty. Yes they do seem to get broken more often. AVS does have a lifetime warranty as long as you can produce a receipt and picture of the broken one. I had several sets in 12 years for the jeep and only paid for one set.

I have the in channel ones now on the Tacoma. I definitely like these better than the ones that tape on to the paint. They are very functional. I like that in the summer I can park with the window down a little to vent. It's also helpful to defog faster too. On cooler days if it's raining I can also drive with the windows down enough to get some fresh air with out getting rain inside.

I miss the smoker's windbreaker windows on old cars.

That being written, I quit smoking 20+ years ago, so no longer need to have the windows open to vent the passenger cabin, especially in rainy weather. Even when I did smoke, running the fan and cracking the window vented the cabin enough.

They're not for me. To each his own.

I installed them on my Taco. Had them on my old Taco. I went with Clim Art ones only because they were on sale at NAPA store. Inside channel install. They are pretty much like AVS. So far no issues.

Finally got around to installing the AVS low profile model yesterday. So far, so good. Will have to get used to the view from the driver’s side window.
I have some 3M adhesive remover. I used that to remove the AVS logo. It was gone in literally less than 3 seconds. No elbow grease needed, quick end easy.

Don’t really see the point in these . If it’s raining I’m gonna have my windows up anyways and defrost on . And if it’s hot I’ll have my AC on and windows closed.

Prefer fresh air when I can get it. Not for everyone though. Rain guards that is, not fresh air. :p

I have them and they do the job somewhat, driving sideways rain no help.
main issue for me is that add to your blind spot along with the A pillar.

    ^^^ Exactly and a great point... ^^^

What is an AWESOME feature to add in some places is a horrible feature in others.
Taco drivers that live on St. Kitts / St. Nevis will need different mods than Taco drivers that live in Denver, Colorado. Just because someone likes something that is pointless to another member doesn't make it bad or wrong.

That is the first install that I put on my new vehicles and hood deflector. Love the looks and the jobs they are designed for.
