Robert thx, (can I call you Bob?). The doors and windows are sealed shut, nothing gets through, like my first college girlfriend. We may have to go through the back door (window) or front grill. Either one is easier.

Bingo. I'll cut this $100 replaceable faux pro grill out, two bolts, hood up, connect the battery, unlock the doors, hide the bodies, in bed by 9pm, happy wife, happy life. You sure I can do this?

You just need a long extension. Step away from the beer and saw...

No saw I hope. Two bolts?

Seriously, I really appreaciate you and everyone on TW is doing. This helps everyone. Honeslty, this grill is so 2017, I'll cut it out. Or use an extension.

If it goes up just enough you can then use jumper cables to the battery terminals.

**EDIT** Be careful not to ground the positive one

I just tried unlocking my truck with the key and it clearly sounds like it tripped an electronic actuator, that is a really bad design.

Well now I have something to keep me entertained this afternoon. I like the "unbolt the latch" idea but the plasma cutter idea is really speaking to me. You know how they recommend disconnecting the battery when welding/plasma cutting on these trucks? You're already one step ahead.

Is that when unlocking the driver door, or all doors? I need to test this next time my battery is disconnected.

There has to be a mechanical link on the driver side that is just disengaged in this instance, right?

I'm not certain its just those 2 bolts and even if it was the release cable will limit your movement upwards. That said if you can get behind the latch and trigger the release you'll be in business
    Couple more pics

Turn the key once to the right to unlock the driver's door, twice to the right to unlock all the doors. That's pretty standard Toyota, even on my old 2005. I just find it hard to believe Toyota (or any car manufacturer) would remove mechanical linkage entirely, causing a situation like this. It's not like a dead battery is all that uncommon. My money is on something else being fuckered up, based on this.

I was able to lock/unlock the drivers door with the battery disconnected. There is a rod that goes from the keylock to the lock assembly in the door. I suspect OP has an issue with the rod somehow either at the tumbler or the lock assembly itself.

You might be right looking at some diagrams.

Is this the release cable protected by that shroud? If so, you should be able to pop it up and then pull it to release the hood.

Surely a locksmith is cheaper than breaking anything on the truck

Crazy thought - do you have a 12V source? There has to be something accessible underneath that you can reach and partially energize, like maybe the alternator? Might be enough to unlock the door

Try the key again. Jiggle it. Pull on the handle while turning.

Then go to the free locksmith option.

Might be a stupid question, but have you tried the key in the passenger door?
