Has anyone raise their seats in their Taco?
I am pretty comfy in the drivers seat but I wish it was a bit higher.
I wonder in I can install spacers or bolt extenders somewhere.
I will look at them tomorrow.
Curious if anyone has done this before

I'm 6' tall and I can't imagine raising the seat any higher because my head might start hitting the roof. The Tacomas just don't sit as high inside as a some other trucks. Plenty of leg room in my Access Cab already though.

Yea I agree plenty of leg room but the angle is more like sitting on the floor than in a chair. I am off tomorrow I will see if I can make somthing happen.

actually on the features of the tacoma it shows that the seats are lower to give a more of a car like feel.

A spacer can be done easily enough. Your trick is to keep it safe in the event of an accident.

Mayhaps a comfy seat pad thing. I've been researching them because of my bad back, but on top of being more comfortable you may sit a bit higher with one

There's always the phone book for us short folks!

I always felt I was sliding out from my sport seat.
I tilted the seat (not the back which is adjustable) about a 1/2 inch from the front.
I elongated the front bracket holes .Got longer high grade bolts,1/2 inch nuts and 2 washers. AND the dremel with a grinding stone drum.
Loosen rear bolts ,grind holes, insert nuts and washers.tighten all bolts . DONE !

I can't answer your question about raising the seat, but I do agree, the seats are too low and car like. My '99 Tacoma sat more up right & truck like.

It's interesting to hear how many that think the seats sit to low. I'm barely 6ft and I'd like to lower the seats in my 13 Taco. For me, they feel to high and I'm a short torso, longer legged, 6ft'er. Leg room, I'm good but I do wish the seat was lower.

I hope none of you that are doing this are ever in a bad accident seriously. Those seats are where they are for a reason. Think of it as a body lift. A bad enough impact and body pucks snap and your cab, bed becomes a projectile. Same thing by adding that stack of washers to your seat. If it bothers you that much get a seat pad (still not really recommended) or reconsider the tacoma as the truck for you. I'm not saying it's not going to work. I'm simply stating the risk factors associated with it. And even if you never have an accident. What happens 3 years down the road you trade it in and forget about that and the next owner gets into an accident

eh, i don't see a problem with it. It's not like they are trying to get 3 inches of raise from it. Body lifts and seat lifts are really not the same. One is carrying way more weight that the other.

I did a solid pvc puck on my last jeep and raised the seats 3/4 of an inch it made a huge difference. Like some of you have mentioned I upgraded the seat bolts. Im 5 7" I think its safe to say if I were an inch higher in cab the air bag would still deploy and smack me properly.

I've gotta agree with this here. OEM's design all the safety systems to work together, so seat height, air bags, crumple zones etc all coincide to keep you safe. Change one and the others are now screwed up. Is it going to kill you? Maybe, maybe not but it sure as hell isn't going to HELP you in an accident. How many home engineers have hurt themselves doing things like this? I'm all for DIY but somethings shouldn't be messed with.

They should've designed it like all the other manufacturers, with a seat that is able to be adjusted up and down. Its just ridiculous Toyota didn't put that in on any model, even the 2012+ups I think don't have this..

My issue being 6 foot is that I nearly have to slide into the seat because my knees will hit the wheel if I try to just turn and get out
