So I have the factory silver front skid plate on my tacoma and I like how it cleans up the front, but wish it went up higher Closer to the bumper. I noticed it came with aluminum spacers. Has anyone tried removing them or replacing them with shorter ones? I feel like this would allow the front plate to go up about 1/2 inch, which would help with that gap. Here’s a pic of the gap not my truck but you get the point...

I wouldn't want it any closer. It's pretty thin so when it hits something it's gonna flex or even bend a bit and you don't want it f'ing up your bumper. It's supposed to be kind of a sacrificial piece.
