I have a 17 SR5 doublecab and I wrongfully assumed there would be a hand crank to raise and lower the seat. Most cars today have that if they don't have a power seat. I'm short and would really like to raise the seat an inch. Anyone tried this ad have any advice?

Out of curiosity, was this not noticed during the test drive?

As far as I know there isn't a "device" that will do this. You could probably install different seats with adjustment, or you could have something fabricated to set the seat higher I suppose.

IF pillow is too crass, take it to a upholstery shop and they will add foam, as many inches as you need

All the love on here, lol. I know there was some info floating around about bushings to change the tilt of the seat, so I'm sure you could cook something up. My problem is the opposite, I can barely get in properly with the steering wheel all the way up, and I'm only 6'. It's another one of those, not sure what Toyota was/is thinking with the design. We're not all the same size. I'd like to see more seat and steering wheel adjustment. Perhaps just a smaller steering wheel.

I agree, I asked about this when I went for a test drive and was told it was because Toyota didn't want things to rattle or break when you go off road....

So do their car seats.... LOL

Saw this guy driving a 3rd gen TRD sport this morning on the way to work and this thread totally reminded me of him. It appeared like he needed some seat height adjustability love as he was constantly tilting his head back to gain that extra bit of sightline.
If you're worried about the look of adding on a "spacer", you could always get one of those seat cover sets from Clazzio or one of those outdoor style seat covers with all the accessory attachments for them and hide the phone book, or whatever your spacer of choice is.

There's a guy here at work with a 1st gen Ridgeline who's about 5'4" and his seat is scooted almost all the way up, but he wears thick soled swat style boots to help him reach the pedal. Looks odd, as he sits with his seat more reclined than usual for an individual of his stature.

Or you could do what some Tacoma owners do. Put 6 inch lift. 35" tires. You are so high, no one can see your height :D

My wife test drove a 2017 this week as we were getting our Land Cruiser serviced. She's 4'11" and said that although she had very little issues with sight lines while driving, she wishes there was some sort of seat adjustment.

This is extremely dangerous and potentionally deadly. This is no the RIGHT way to gain height on a seat. Those bolts will most like shear off in an accident and cause injuries. Do like others said and have some additional foam put in your seats. The pillow idea isn't the best either, because you could slide out of the seatbelt in a crash.

If you add the foam report back how much you added, I'm 5'4" and the scoop makes it even worse

Forgot to mention that insurance could be an issue as well If you modify the seat bases. They would have a reason to deny a claim on injuries caused by the bolts failing.

Then he'll need a step ladder to get down.. Those shorter guys that literally jump out of the full size trucks with 6" or more lifts are the most entertaining.

I leave the steering wheel all the way down and out (since this is where I like it for driving).
I get in right knee first between the seat and steering wheel - took some time to get used to but now it comes natural.

I saw one in flyover country recently. They opened door, and an auto ladder came down. They climbed down the ladder. Silliest thing I have seen ....
