    I usually use solder cause every time i try to crimp something i cut through the connector and the wire.

    Crimps or appropriate connectors. Having a quality crimp tool makes a big difference. Cheap ones tend to cut through and can cause damage. Also, like @Sandman614 mentioned....use the ones with the heat shrink and adhesive...wort the extra money.

    You have to be careful crimping the heat shrink crimps, it's easy to cut the shrink media, when you heat it will split at the cut. Using a crimp tool is an acquired talent.

    With a good crimp tool, like the ratcheting one I got it works great. Plus the glue helps hold them together and seal any cuts. Also helps hands from cramping to much.
